Starting up of the first 209 km section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline was marked with special ceremony. Commissioning of the project will allow to export to Europe anually up to 30 billion cubic meter of gas through a new corridor across the Republic of Byelorussia. The construction of the section was carried out on the basis of modem scientific and technical achievements using plant coated pipes, new welding and equipment assembling technologies in compatibility with the International Quality System ISO-9000. The gas pipeline was tested by the "stress - test" method, it has reliable cathodic protection system and newest telemetering and gas transportation remote control complexes. The quality of the constructed gas pipeline complies with international standards.
