On 4th June the representatives of JSC “STROYTRANSGAZ” discussed the results of oil and gas prospecting with Mr. Alexander Tiagunov, the deputy of the Governor of the Tver region. As a result of a microscopic low-frequency probing at one of the sites in the region of Belsk the experts of the “STROYTRANSGAZ” subsidiary oil company “Stroytransgaz-Oil” have revealed here signs of presence of the hydrocarbon resources. These data agree with findings of seismic prospecting that took place a little later. Now a first well deep of 2.5 km has been laid in the prospecting site. After drilling the results of the research will be known. In case of success JSC “STROYTRANSGAZ” will keep on producing from this field for 20 years. In 1998 a contract was awarded to JSC “STROYTRANSGAZ” on geologic prospecting of the site of Zubtsov, that comprises territories of Zubtsov, Staritsa, Rjev, Belsk and Olenin regions. Since then oil and gas fields have been prospected in Tver area.
