JSC “Stroytransgaz” has completed installation of crossings under the rivers of Chelbas and Kochety-2 in the Krasnodar area at the main gas pipeline Russia – Turkey (the “Blue Stream” Project).

These crossings were installed at the depth of 26 meters under the river of Chelbas and at the depth of 23 meters under the river of Kochety-2 with the length of boreholes 696 and 780 meters respectively and by pulling the pipeline 1420 mm in diameter. The crossings were carried out by the horizontal directional drilling method by the specialists of the joint venture “VIS & MOS, Ltd ”, subsidiary of JSC “Stroytransgaz”. For boring of pilot boreholes over the last obstacles on the way of the “Blue Stream” Project under the rivers of Ubin and Sukhoy Log the same method of boring was used. At present preparatory works for widening of the boreholes are being carried out. In the opinion of the Vice-President of JSC “Stroytransgaz” Mr. Vorobiev Alexander the use of horizontal directional drilling method ensures the highest degree of reliability of the pipeline and meets the most strict ecological standards. He said: “As of today this method of installation of crossings beneath the waterways remains the most up-to-date and highly efficient method”. Installation of crossings under the rivers of Chelbas and Kochety-2 is another landmark at the construction of the main gas pipeline Russia – Turkey.
