Specialists of JSC “Stroytransgaz” have drilled 500 meters of the design 6.5 kilometers of the 1st North-Astrakhan well in the North-Astrakhan area of the Astrakhan region.
Drilling of the well was commenced on 18th June this year and “Stroytransgaz” is planning to complete the works in March 2003. The 1st Tabakovskaya well 6.044 kilometers deep drilled by “Stroytransgaz” in the same area is at present under geological study and development. At the same time “Stroytransgaz” is carrying out geological exploration in the flood plain area of the Astrakhan region where its specialists have already started installation of a drilling rig to drill the 1st exploratory well 7 kilometers deep. Based on the results of all the geological studies one can draw a final conclusion regarding reserves of oil in the region.
