Specialists of JSC “Stroytransgaz” have completed testing by using a stress-test method of the Russian section of the Russia-Turkey main gas pipeline (“Blue Stream”) from km 0 to km 56 in Stavropol area.

In the estimation of experts of the German Association of Engineering Supervision (TUV) who witnessed the technical part of testing of the Russia-Turkey main gas pipeline the test was carried out successfully by observing all the required parameters. At present the process of displacing water from the pipeline is going on and afterwards the line will be dried and filled with gas. At the same time as this work is in progress “Stroytransgaz” commenced testing of the pipeline section from km 56 to km 307 by using the stress-test method and it has been planned to complete the tests by middle of September this year. Testing of the pipeline by a stress-test method was carried out by the order of the Client – JSC “Gazprom”. The stress-test technology is defined as a hydrostatic method of testing of a pipeline wherein the installed section is filled with water with increasing the pressure up to the proof level. Such loads allow one to check the gas pipeline for strength, tightness and will increase the reliability of its maintenance and operation. The vast experience of JSC “Stroytransgaz” allows the company to carry out tests in accordance with the established International Standards and at the same time meet the completion dates of the construction. The “Blue Stream” Project will be commissioned in due time.
