When performing automatic welding of pipes 863 mm in diameter with the CRC-Evans welding unit at the construction of the Haud-El-Hamra – Arzev oil pipeline in Algeria specialists of JSC “Stroytransgaz” have set a record for labour productivity by welding 251 joints during a shift whereas under normal rate of welding the company’s operators weld only 120-130 joints.

Welding and installation works at the section km 418 – km 684 of the Haud-El-Hamra – Arzev oil pipeline using the CRC-Evans automatic complex are being performed since February this year. After welding the weld joints of each pipe are subjected to X-ray inspection. Based on the assessment of the Customer’s representatives of the Algerian company “Sonatrach T.R.C.” the welding operation is conducted successfully by observing all the required conditions and parameters. A high professional level and experience of the specialists of JSC Stroytransgaz enables one to attain effective results and record speed of welding operations during installation of all the facilities of the oil and gas industry. Thus, in November 2000 at the construction of the Turkish section of the main pipeline Russia-Turkey (“Blue Stream”) the rate of productivity achieved by the operators and welders of the Stroytransgaz company using the CRC-Evans equipment was the best in the whole European region viz. 207weld joints of pipes 1220 mm in diameter per shift.
