At the construction of the Yamal – Europe main gas pipeline Stroytransgaz has completed the works on installation of the Smolenskaya gas-measuring station located in the vicinity of the compressor station of the same name at km 337 of the gas pipeline route.
The Smolenskaya gas-measuring station which has been constructed with the use of the most modern equipment allows us to measure the volumes of the Russian gas delivered to Belorussia and further to Europe with the utmost accuracy including its major parameters: pressure, the speed of flow, temperature, humidity and a number of other important characteristics. The capacity of the gas-measuring station is equal to the transmission capacity of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline with the operating pressure of 8.3 MPa and makes up 33 billion cubic meters of gas per year. To the present day measuring of the gas transported along the Yamal – Europe main gas pipeline to Poland and Germany was done only in the Polish settlement of Kondratky. By commissioning the Smolenskaya gas measuring station it will be possible to carry out more accurate metering of the “blue fuel” exported from Russia. Construction of the linear part of the Belorussia section km 402 – km 768 from the Russian border up to the operating Nesvizh compressor station has been completed. At present at the last Belorussia section km 586 – km 768 drying process of the pipeline has been competed and hot tapping to the gas pipeline under operation is carried out.
