Stroytransgaz has completed construction and installation works on construction of the first stage of the second gas treatment Complex 2C at the development of the Zapoliarnoe gas-oil-condensate field (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area).

The gas treatment Complex 2C is meant for a complex treatment of gas prior to delivery it to the Zapoliarnoe-Urengoy main gas pipeline. To the present day 14 gas gathering pipelines 66.3 km long have been put into operation. Along these gathering lines laid from the biggest field 20 million cubic meters of gas is daily supplied to the gas treatment Complex 2C. The gas treatment Complex 2C includes 24 gas gathering pipelines with a total length of 133.2 km and about 180 facilities of the production and social infrastructure. The design capacity of the second unit is 32.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year. When all the 24 gas gathering lines at the gas treatment Complex 2C are put into operation then the total volume of gas production at the Zapoliarnoye field will make up 67.5 billion cubic metes of gas per year. We would like to mention the fact that previously production of the “blue fuel” at the field was carried out with the help of the gas treatment Complex 1C with a capacity of 35 billion cubic meters of gas per year which was commissioned by OAO Stroytransgaz in October 2001. Both Complexes of the first and second gas treatment units at the Zapoliarnoe gas-oil-condensate field are the facilities constructed of high-technology equipment and these facilities have no equal in the world regarding their capacity, equipping with telemechanics and fire safety. In the course of the construction of these facilities the experts of OAO Stroytransgaz used unconventional planning-spacial concept which meets the severe Arctic conditions, special methods of thermal stabilization of soil were used to ensure stability of foundations. All the production buildings and facilities of the Complexes have been completed with a high level of finishing work which is traditional for the Stroytransgaz Company. At the present time at the site of the gas treatment Complex 2C the specialists of OAO Stroytransgaz and its subcontracted organizations in severe climatic conditions are carrying out construction of the remaining ten gas gathering lines with a total length of 66.9 km and facilities of infrastructure being a part of the second commissioning Complex. Alongside with these activities adjustment and commissioning works of the second pipeline of the Zapoliarnoe-Urengoy main gas pipeline system 188.7 km long are being carried out. Commissioning of the second stage of the system of the Zapoliarnoe-Urengoy main gas pipelines is scheduled for the end of December this year and full completion of the works at the gas treatment Complex 2C is scheduled for the beginning of 2003.
