OAO Stroytransgaz has completed construction of booster compressor station №6 (BCS-6) of the second stage with a total capacity of 96 MW at the Yamburg gas-oil-condensate field (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area).
Operation of the BCS-6 station allows one to maintain gas production of the sixth field at the designed level within 7 years. At present at the Yamburg gas-oil-condensate field the specialists of OAO Stroytransgaz are engaged in construction of booster compressor stations of the second stage – BCS-1 and BCS-3. Simultaneously with these works technical documentation for construction of compressor stations of the second stage – BCS-4 and BCS-7 are under preparation. Commissioning of four new booster compressor stations is equivalent to commencement of operation of a completely new gas field with production capacity 20-25 billion cubic metes of gas a year which involve 4-5 times less capital investments. The Client of the project is OOO Yamburggazdobycha, a subsidiary of OAO Gazprom. For reference. The Yamburg gas-oil-condensate field is one of the largest in the world, it was discovered in 1969 to the north of Tyumen region. The total reserves of the field are estimated almost at 7 trillion cubic meters of gas. Gas production at the Yamburg gas-oil-condensate field was started in 1986. At present 10 fields have been developed and are in service. These fields produce 180 billion cubic meters of “blue fuel” a year. Construction of booster compressor stations has arisen from the necessity to keep the planned level of gas production. The booster compressor stations of the first stage are designed for stabilization of gas pressure in the fields where the pressure level has decreased to 56 atmospheres. The booster compressor stations of the second stage are being operated at more reduced pressure – 45 atmospheres. OAO Stroytransgaz commenced construction of powerful booster compressor stations at the Yamburg fields in 1995. During the whole period of development of the Yamburg field the Stroytransgaz company constructed six booster compressor stations of the first and second stages with a total capacity of 528 MW.
