The delegation of the largest oil production company of the world Saudi Aramco (Saudi Arabia) was on a five day business trip to Russia with the aim to assess the potential capabilities of the Russian company Stroytransgaz.
The guests from Saudi Arabia held negotiations with the President of OAO Stroytransgaz Mr. Victor Lorentz and they met with the representatives of business circles of Russia.
The delegation of Saudi Aramco accompanied by top managers of Stroytransgaz visited the towns of Novy Urengoy and Tyumen where they acquainted themselves with the conditions of gas production in the Far North and with the projects and facilities constructed by Stroytransgaz as general contractor for OAO Gazprom. The representatives of Saudi Aramco stated that the period of time for developing of the Zapoliarnoy oil-and-gas-condensate field, one of the largest in the world, was “impressively short”.
When commenting on the results of the visit the First Vice-President of OAO Stroytransgaz Leonid Bokhanovsky noted that “the visit to Russia of the management of Saudi Aramco was the first serious practical step in order to understand each other better and determine the frame of the future cooperation and choose the most convenient forms and directions”.
The top managers of the Saudi Company invited the President of OAO Stroytransgaz and experts of the Company to visit Saudi Aramco to familiarize themselves with the conditions of the work in Saudi Arabia and the requirements placed on the contractors in the country.
