In the course of the development of the Zapadno-Ozernoe gas-oil-condensate field (Chukot Autonomous Area) OAO Stroytransgaz has completed installation works on construction of the first stage of the gas treatment complex.

Development of the Zapadno-Ozernoe field and construction of the gas treatment complex are carried out by Stroytransgaz since January 2003. The Customer of the project is OAO Sibneft.

At present the specialists of the Novosibirsk affiliate of OAO Stroytransgaz are engaged in carrying out arrangements to prepare the gas treatment complex, gas gathering lines and gas wells for hydrostatic tests to be carried out in August.

The gas treatment complex is due to be commissioned in the fourth quarter this year and this enables one to start production of gas at the Zapadno-Ozernoe gas-oil-condensate field which is the only large developed field of Chukot Peninsula. It is anticipated that production of gas will be started next year after laying a low pressure gas pipeline which will connect the complex of gas facilities of the Zapadno-Ozernoe gas-oil-condensate field and the town of Anadyr. Development of the reserves of the Zapadno-Ozernoe field will make a considerable contribution to the improvement of the economy of the north-east region of Russia and enlarge raw materials source of the home oil and gas complex.

For reference:

The Zapadno-Ozernoe field is located at a distance of 100 km to the south of the town of Anadyr. The total reserves of the Zapadno-Ozernoe gas-oil-condensate field are estimated at 6 billion m3 of gas. The volume of commercial production of gas at the field makes up about 120 million m3 of “blue fuel” a year.
