On the threshold of the forthcoming official visit of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia to Moscow negotiations were held between the President of OAO Stroytransgaz Victor Lorents and Director General of the Saudi Oger Company Saad Al-Hariri.
Victor Lorents and Saad Al-Hariri reviewed the joint activities of OAO Stroytransgaz and the Saudi Oger Company from the time of signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in last October within the framework of the first session of the Russian-Saudi intergovernmental committee and they discussed the possible ways of speedy participation in tenders called by the three leading companies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, viz.: Saudi Aramco, SWCC and SABIC.
The Parties considered it feasible to establish a Joint Venture in Saudi Arabia and sign an Agreement on strategic partnership with the objectives to officially secure all the previously reached agreements and use the joint potential to obtain contract works in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in third countries.
By now OAO Stroytransgaz with the support of Saudi Oger and as a result of the prequalification procedure has already been entered in the Register of Contractors of Saudi Aramco – the state oil company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and it is following the procedure of prequalification registration with the state company SWCC on desalination of sea water with the aim to participate in large scale projects on construction of water pipelines.
In June this year the delegation of Saudi Aramco familiarized itself with the methods and technologies which OAO Stroytransgaz is applying at the construction of oil and gas projects in the North of Tyumen Oblast. It was in July when the delegation of Stroytransgaz visited the largest gas production facilities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was invited to participate in the large-scale program of the development of the gas industry of the country. Implementation of this program allows one to use gas widely as a source of energy and raw material for petrochemistry.
Victor Lorents and Saad al-Hariri expressed their mutual readiness to use, after determining and choosing a specific project, all their potentials for successful participation in tenders at EPC level (engineering, procurement, construction).
Stroytransgaz possesses highly qualified specialists, unique technologies, its own powerful fleet of construction equipment and machinery as well as many other competitive advantages. The partnership with such a local company as Saudi Oger allows Stroytransgaz to seek objectively successful participation in bids and implementation of large scale projects in the countries of Middle East.
The Director General of the Saudi Oger Company Sheikh Saad Al-Hariri arrived in Moscow among the Saudi businessmen who accompanied the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdalla Ben Abdel Aziz Al-Saud during his first visit to Russia.
The Consortium OAO Stroytransgaz - Saudi Oger is the first Russian-Saudi consortium and the Agreement on strategic partnership between the companies as well as the intention to establish JV will be a natural result of the progressive development of bilateral relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia.
