OAO Stroytransgaz has completed construction of the second stage of the booster compressor station (BCS) at the complex gas treatment unit (Complex-3) at the Yamburg condensate field.

BCS has six turbine units with the capacity of 16 megawatt. It is already the eighth station constructed by the Company at one of the major fields for production of energy resources in the North of Russia.

Exploration drilling of the upper-cretaceous deposits of the Yamburg field started in 1965. The first gas from the field was delivered into the unified gas mains system in 1986. However more than 50% of the reserves in the central part of the field have already been extracted.

Construction of the booster compressor stations allows one to maintain at the field the planned gas production level: commissioning of each booster station will increase gas production by 4-5 billion cubic meters a year. Besides the second stage of the complex compressor stations constructed by Stroytransgaz will considerably increase the qualitative characteristics of the raw material delivered into the Unified Gas Transportation System.

By the end of 2003 the Company will complete construction of two more booster compressor stations at the Yamburg gas-oil-condensate field. Thus the total capacity of all the stations put into operation at the field will make up 960 megawatt.

The Customer of the construction is OOO Yamburggasdobycha, a subsidiary of OAO Gazprom.
