OOO “VIS & MOS JV”, a subsidiary of OAO Stroytransgaz, has completed installation of a crossing under the Ob river 1.5 km long in the Nizhnevartovsk region using the method of horizontal directional drilling. This is the first crossing of such length installed in the history of Russian oil and gas development.
This technology guarantees preservation of the natural conditions of the water bodies and characteristics of the fishing industry of the rivers both during installation of crossings and during operation of pipelines.
The crossing was installed at the oil pipeline section located between the Ermakov central gathering station and the Nizhnevartovsk oil pumping station.
OAO Stroytransgaz is the general contractor for construction of the main oil pipeline along the whole route.
