OAO Stroytransgaz has completed construction of the Smolenskaya compressor station being a part of the line facilities of the Yamal-Europe main gas pipeline.

At present an acceptance committee has completed the work and Acceptance Certificate was signed and submitted to OAO

Gazprom for approval.

The Smolenskaya compressor station constructed with the use of the most up-to-date equipment is meant to increase transportation of the Russian gas to Europe and stabilize operation of the gas pipeline especially during the winter period.

In accordance with the design 6 turbo-units with a total capacity of 96 megawatt have been constructed at the Smolenskaya compressor station.

In accordance with the requirements of the investor - OAO Gazprom and the client - ZAO Yamalgazinvest for a high quality of the gas transportation system of the Yamal-Europe international gas pipeline at the Somlensklaya compressor station after hydrostatic tests drying and vacuumization were carried out according to the European standards.

This is the second compressor station constructed by OAO Stroytransgaz at the route of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline. The Nesvizh compressor station was the first compressor station constructed at this section of the gas pipeline which was commissioned in 2000.
