OAO Stroytransgaz in consortium with the Indian company Essar Construction Ltd. has signed a contract for construction of product pipeline Chennai-Trichy-Madurai, total length 688 km, in the southern part of India.

OAO Stroytransgaz in consortium with the Indian company Essar Construction Ltd. has signed a contract for construction of product pipeline Chennai-Trichy-Madurai, total length 688 km, in the southern part of India.
The customer of the project is Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL).
The product pipeline Chennai-Trichy-Madurai is intended for transportation of oil products from petroleum refinery IOCL located in the city of Chennai to the districts of Trichy and Madurai (Tamil Nandu State).
Product pipeline Chennai-Trichy-Madurai route includes three sections of different pipe diameter: the first one - 258 km, diameter 14”, the second one – 158 km, diameter 12.75”, the third one – 272 km, diameter 10,75”.
According to the provisions of contract project implementation period is 11 months.
Being a consortium member OAO Stroytransgaz renders technical assistance to its Indian partner Essar Construction Ltd. and provides special-purpose construction machinery.
Practical cooperation between OAO Stroytransgaz and the largest state oil corporation of India – Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. – started in spring 2003 by construction of gas pipeline project Baroda-Ahmedabad-Kalol, Gujarat State, where IOCL was a consortium member
