Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area. OAO Stroytransgaz concluded construction of the 57 km looping to the gas pipeline system “Nothern Parts of Tyumen Region (SRTO) – Torzhok”, that connected the Compressor stations (CS) Pangodinskaya and Pravokhettinskaya
Putting of the looping into operation will enable to increase the capacity of this section of SRTO-Torzhok gas pipeline system by 70 mcm (million cubic meters) of gas per day that will secure additional supply of gas from GNKM Zapolyarnoe.
The Owner of the Project is ZAO Yamalgazinvest, a daughter enterprise of OAO Gazprom.
The Construction was carried out by two daughter and some subcontract enterprises of OAO Stroytransgaz, i.e. Urengoy affiliate № 2, OOO Stroytransgaz-Tonnel, OOO Severtruboprovodstroy, OAO Priobtruboprovodstroy, OOO Mezhreghiontruboprovodstroy.
Special unique technologies for pipe laying were used by OAO Stroytransgaz specialists to construct the looping under severe geo-cryologycal conditions of the Extreme North. Technology of ballasting with reinforced concrete and cast iron weights was used in the swampy and watered sections of the pipeline instead of using standard ballasting devices that allowed increasing operational safety of this section of the pipeline. In peated sections with firm and frozen lower layers a “replanting” technology was used: that is when the pipeline is lowered to the design reference mark by way of subsequent trenching of the pipeline ditch from both sides of the installed line of the gas pipeline, and debugging the trench with special excavator equipped with auger and hydraulic guns. The similar technology was already used by OAO Stroytransgaz specialists during construction of the Pur River crossing in 2002 at construction of the second line of the gas pipeline Zapolyarnoe-Urengoy.
Simultaneously with construction of the linear part along all the length of the looping SRTO-Torzhok a highway was built together with ten metal bridges of 80 tons carrying capacity each. This will enable the maintenance service of OOO Tymentransgaz, the daughter enterprise of OAO Gazprom freely attend to all service lines of the gas pipeline.
At present the hydraulic tests are finished at this section and hot tapping into the existing pipelines is under way. Putting into operation is planned for beginning of November, 2004.
