ОАО Stroytransgaz signed a contract for construction of oil-gathering system of West Salym field with Salym Petroleum Development N.V. – SPD.
Subject to provisions of the contract Stroytransgaz undertakes to construct 52-kilometer long field pipelines complete with all required infrastructure by the end of the year 2007.
Commencement of works is planned for January 2005.
Stroytransgaz was selected a General Contractor for the Project following the tender announced by Salym Petroleum Development N.V. in August 2004.
West Salym field is a part of Salym group of oil fields located in Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous area, 120 km South-East to Surgut. Salym Petroleum Development – a joint enterprise of Royal Dutch/Shell and a Russian company OAO NK Evikhon (50/50) – has been licensed for development of this field since 1998.
According to various expert appraisals mineable resources of Salym group of oil fields are 80-120 million tons of oil. At the same time the most of them (about 80%) are produced at West Salym field.
Total capital investment in development of Salym group of oil fields shall be 1 billion dollars.
