ndian national company Gudjarat State Petronet Ltd. (GSPL)* has concluded a contract with the Consortium OAO Stroytransgaz – Essar Construction Ltd. for construction of a section of the gas pipeline Anand – Rajkot, 168 km long and 24” and 18” in dia.
The project will be carried out on EPC terms (engineering – procurement – construction) in the framework of the gasification program of the state of Gudjarat, one of the most industrially developed regions of India. The term of the project is 12 months.
According to the conditions of the contract, OAO Stroytransgaz, being leader of the Consortium, runs the project and guarantees design work.
Conclusion of the contract with OAO Stroytransgaz – Essar Construction Ltd. was called forth by the optimum business proposal of the Consortium – about 48 million dollars.
Among other candidates for the implementation of the project one can mention major Indian construction companies Punj Lloyd Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd., as well as Consortium Sicim (Italy) – Nagarjuna Construction Company Ltd. (India).
As for the previous project of OAO Stroytransgaz in the State of Gudjarat it was construction of a gas pipeline at the Baroda – Ahmedabad – Kalol section in the framework of the Consortium OAO Stroytransgaz – Essar Construction Ltd. – Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The successful experience of cooperation of the Russian company with Indian partners allows one to forecast further participation of OAO Stroytransgaz in the government program of gasification of this Indian State.
