PJSC Stroytransgaz plans to take part in bids for construction of oil pipeline Burgas – Alexandroupolis

On 15th of March, 2007, in Athens Russia, Bulgaria and Greece have signed intergovernmental agreement on the construction of oil pipeline Burgas - Alexandroupolis. The document was signed in the presence of the President of the Russian Federation V.V.Putin, Prime Ministers of Greece and Bulgaria Konstantinos Karamanlis and Sergey Stanishev. As a member of official Russian delegation at signing of the Agreement there was the President of PJSC Stroytransgaz V.Ya.Lorentz.
The project of oil pipeline Burgas - Alexandroupolis was discussed since 1993. Fourteen years later the basic agreement was at last signed allowing to start implementation of the project. Project which price is 1 billion Euro, assumes transportation of Russian oil from Bulgarian port Burgas to Greek port Alexandroupolis and further to international markets. Pipeline length will be about 300 km, capacity from 35 to 50 million tons of oil per year.
PJSC Stroytransgaz actively participates in this project since 2000. With direct partaking of the Company studying and actualizations of technical and economic assessment of the project prepared by German company ILF was carried out. PJSC Stroytransgaz was participating in Russian division of Tripartite Working Committee of Russia, Bulgaria and Greece where the Company was assigned to develop the concept of project execution including detailed study of construction component.
The signed Agreement provides a choice of contractors and suppliers of resources and services necessary for the construction and operation of oil pipeline on tender basis, mainly from the companies representing Parties of the agreement.
Considering long lasting interest of our Company to this project and wide experience in construction of oil pipelines abroad, in particular in Greece, with the use of most advanced construction technologies and environment protection methods, PJSC Stroytransgaz will actively participate in bids for the construction of oil pipeline Burgas - Alexandroupolis.
