Prime Minister of Syria visits Stroytransgaz Sites

Some of these days a delegation of Syrian Government at the head of the Prime Minister of the country Mr. Muhammad Naji al-Otari visited the Arab Gas Pipeline near the city of Homs and the Gas Treatment Plant in the area of South Palmyra which are under construction by PJSC Stroytransgaz.
According to the Prime Minister activities of PJSC Stroytransgaz in the country strengthen the Russian-Syrian relations. Mr. Muhammad Naji al-Otari also expressed hope that this cooperation will enable to bring the mutual relations between the two countries to the level that had existed in the times of the USSR.
Mr. Muhammad Naji al-Otari highly appraised the significance of the Projects for the Syrian economy. In particular, according to the Prime Minister, their implementation will allow the country to use its own natural gas for thermal power stations that will yearly save the country US $ 750 million.
The head of the delegation also expressed hope for extension of mutually beneficial cooperation between Syria and Russia. It was not accidental that on April 26, 2007 in Damascus was signed another contract for construction of the second Gas Treatment Plant and development of gas fields in the area of North Palmyra, and it was signed without any tender at that, in token of confidence in PJSC Stroytransgaz. Productive capacity of this Gas Treatment Plant will be over 3 million cubic meters per day of marketable gas. Besides, liquefied propane and butane, and condensate will be produced.

Gas Treatment Plant
On December 5, 2005 PJSC Stroytransgaz signed a Contract for construction of Gas Treatment Plant and associated facilities, and development of gas fields in South Area of Central Region of Syria. Owner of the Project is the State Syrian Gas Company. PJSC Stroytransgaz realizes the Project on EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) conditions, i.e. on the “turn key” basis. Gas Treatment Gas Complex is situated at the distance of 70 km from Palmyra, at the area of major hydrocarbons fields in Syria. Productive capacity of the Plant will be 2.2 bcm of conditioned gas per year, 23 thousand tons per year of liquefied propane and butane and 233 thousand tons per year of condensate.
Arab Gas Pipeline
Since April 2006 in accordance with the Contract signed on December 5, 2005 PJSC Stroytransgaz constructs 36" Arab Gas Pipeline Project. 324 km gas pipeline runs from the Jordan-Syrian border up to the gas gathering station Al Rayan in the area of Homs. Owner of the Project is the State Syrian Gas Company. PJSC Stroytransgaz realizes the Project on EPC conditions.
