Representative International Football Tournament among disabled persons for PJSC Stroytransgaz Cup was held in the Training Center for Football National Teams “Sputnik-Sport” in Sochi from 6 to 13 July.

Competition was organized by Football Federation of Disabled Persons of Russia. PJSC Stroytransgaz Cup was established on April 5, 2007. Teams from Iran, Liberia, Turkey and Ukraine came to compete in this southern city.  Russia was represented by a Moscow team “Olimpro”, the Russian champion of 2006.

In dogged fight the Russian Team “Olimpro” has one the game 2:1. The second place was gained by the Iranian Team. The winner was presented with commemorative trophy, medals and valuable gifts.
The present tournament was held by courtesy of PJSC Stroytransgaz that proposed to hold it in the playing fields of “Sputnik-Sport”. Reconstruction of this health complex was completed by PJSC Stroytransgaz two years ago. Now it is a training center of Russian football teams.
Steering, technical and referees committees were composed of representatives of Football Union of Russia (F.U.R.), Football Federation of Disabled Persons of Russia (FFDPR), PJSC Stroytransgaz and World Amputee Football Federation (W.A.F.F.).

Such arrangements promote popularization of football and expand communication among disabled persons and incapacitated athletes from various countries.
It is not by chance that Sochi was chosen for such tournament. Indeed, it fights for the right to hold the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, upon closing of which the Para Olympic Games will be held.
