Stroytransgaz started construction of reactor compartment of Kalininskaya Nuclear Power Plant

On November 12, a solemn ceremony of concrete placement into force plate of reactor compartment of Block-house No. 4 of Kalinin nuclear power plant took place in the town Ydomlya of the Tver Oblast.
Construction of this power unit is included into the Federal Target Program Development of the Nuclear Energy Industry of Russia for 2007–2010 and the Future to 2015. Construction shall be carried out under the order of the Federal Agency for Atomic Energy.
General Contractor of the Project is FGUP NIAEP. Stroytransgaz is the principal contractor on construction and installation works at facilities of power unit start-up complex (reactor compartment, equipment room, water conduits, catch-water drains etc.).
Governor of the Tver Oblast Dmitriy Zelenin, Acting General Director of the Trust Rosenergoatom Alexander Lokshin, Director of Kalininskaya Nuclear Power Plant Leonid Martynovchenko, First Deputy Head of Energy Construction Department of PJSC Stroytransgaz Stanyslav Antipov participated in the ceremony.
In his opening statement Dmitriy Zelenin pointed out the importance of the Project both for overall growth of power production by Russian nuclear power plants and solving of social issues in the region.
Alexander Lokshin qualified this event as ‘Nuclear Renaissance’ in his speech at the ceremony. He also expressed positiveness in successful implementation of extensive and ambitious program on nuclear power industry development which can make a considerable contribution into development of the country.
