Stroytransgaz Wins Contract for Molzhaninovka GTPP

Stroytransgaz has been awarded a contract for construction of the first phase of the Molzhaninovka gas turbine power plant. Design capacity of the power plant is 220-260 MW of electricity and 380 Gcal/hour of heat per year. The GTPP construction site is situated in the Severny Administrative Okrug of Moscow.

The customer for the project is Resad. The project investor is the state corporation Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank).

Stroytransgaz will execute the project on EPC terms. The company will carry out general construction work at the GTPP main building, modular pump station, booster compressor station. It will also assemble auxiliary and service, and transportation facilities, laid engineering networks. Technical equipment installed in the plant will meet the latest requirements and standards, in particular, a gas turbine and steam condensing turbine plant manufactured by Alstom Power.

The project is being implemented under an investment contract with the Government of Moscow for electric and thermal energy supplies to the housing sector in the promising Molzhaninovskiy region of Moscow and  to the Planernaya industrial area, which includes the Prom City Moskva-Sever specialized production district.

Stroytransgaz entered the promising power construction market in 2006, as part of a strategy to diversify its production activities. That year it won a tender to become the general contractor for construction of the South-West TEC in St. Petersburg. Today the company is participating in the construction of nine facilities for heat and nuclear power generation. The combined energy power of these units—which include objects for the start-up complexes of energy block №4 at the Kalinin nuclear power plant, energy blocks № 2, № 3 and № 4 at the Volgodonsk nuclear power station, energy blocks №1 and №2 at Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant-2, and TEC-22 in St. Petersburg—exceeds 7500 MW.
