Stroytransgaz Has Executed the Works for the Construction of HV Lines 750 kV Overhangs of the Kalinin NPP - Belozyorskaya to the Switchboard of the NPP and Belozyorskaya Substation

Within the framework of the power distribution facilities construction for energy block No. 4 of the Kalinin nuclear power plant (KNPP), Stroytransgaz has commissioned the reconstructed HV lines 750 kV of the Kalinin NPP—Belozerskaya. The works have been executed in full and within the established deadlines.
Stroytransgaz specialists and subcontractors completed the construction of HV lines 750 kV overhangs to the Kalinin nuclear power plant, the works on overhaul of Belozerskaya substation while the Kalinin NPP specialists expanded the substation capacity by installing a new nest. Thus, due to the joint efforts of all subcontractors the third stage of the KNPP power distribution facilities construction has been successfully finished, and the plant technical characteristics for the distribution of the energy to consumers have been improved.
The previous day the control headquarters for synchronization of the projects — construction of energy block No. 4 and power distribution facilities construction of the Kalinin NPP – took place and was guided by the executive management of Rosatom, FSK, CO EES, and Stroytransgaz.
The commissioning of the main power grids planned for October—December, 2011, will ensure the delivery of 1,000 MW capacity of a new energy block, the Kalinin nuclear power plant, to the Moscow Energy System. This will allow adding new consumers and increasing the energy system reliability in general.
Totally, over 540 km of 220—750 kV HV lines will be installed for the power distribution of the new energy block of the Kalinin nuclear power plant, more than 6,758 MVA of transformer capacity will be put into operation. 750 kV Belozerskaya substation will be expanded, 500 kV Dorokhovo substation and 750 kV Gribovo substation are to be constructed along with 750 kV Kalinin NPP—Gribovo line, 500 kV Gribovo—Dorokhovo line, and Dorohovo—Sloboda double-circuit cable overhead transmission line.
Stroytransgaz is a major construction and engineering Russian company conducting its production activity in 17 countries. Stroytransgaz has been working in the energy construction market since 2006 and at present is carrying out nine projects in the heat and nuclear generation sector, including the starting complex of energy block No. 4 at the Kalinin nuclear power plant. The Company also implements the UNEG projects for high voltage rating facilities construction.
Under the general contract for the construction of power distribution facilities for energy block No. 4 of the Kalinin nuclear power plant, Stroytransgaz will operate as the EPC contractor and implement commissioning and start-up.
