MOSCOW. May 14 (Interfax) – Gazprom (RTS: GAZP) and Stroytransgaz have agreed strategic cooperation with their Brazilian partners, President Dmitry Medvedev said following talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
"Agreement has been reached on cooperation between Gazprom and Stroytransgaz and Brazilian Petrobras," Medvedev said. "I visited that company when I was in Brazil," he said.
"In the near future the regional representation of our company will begin work," he said.
Gazprom approved opening a representative office in Rio de Janeiro in late 2008. Its goal is to develop Gazprom operations through Latin America.
