Russia offers UAE to involve Sibur in fertilizer projects

MOSCOW, Jun 28 (Prime-TASS) – Russia has offered the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to consider the participation of Sibur–Minudobreniya, a unit of Russian holding Sibur, in the construction of nitrogen fertilizer plants in the UAE, according to a protocol signed after a meeting of the Russian–UAE cooperation commission Monday.

Sibur–Minudobreniya and unspecified UAE companies are expected to consider the issue in the near future, Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko told reporters.

Additionally, Russian power engineering company Power Machines is interested in supplying equipment for the construction of power plants in the UAE, Russian oil and gas engineering company Stroytransgaz intends to register in the UAE, and Russian power company Inter RAO UES plans to open a representative office in Abu Dhabi, according to the protocol.
