Russia's Transneft chooses contractors for Far East pipeline

Moscow, Jan 29 (Prime-TASS) – Russia's oil pipeline monopoly Transneft has chosen contractors for the East Siberia–Pacific Ocean oil pipeline's second stage, a spokesperson for the company said Friday.

The contractors are Stroytransgaz, Stroynovatsiya, Mezhregiontruboprovodstroy and Stroygazkonsalting, the spokesperson said.

The East Siberia–Pacific Ocean pipeline is intended for oil exports to the Asia–Pacific Region.

The first part of the pipeline running from the city of Taishet in the Irskutsk Region via Yakutia to Skovorodino in the Amur Region was launched in December 2009. The second part of the pipeline from Skovorodino to the port of Kozmino on the Pacific Coast is expected to be launched in 2014–2015.
