Kenkiyak-Atyrau oil pipeline
In 2002 Stroytransgaz and northwest pipeline company MunaiTas concluded a contract for turnkey construction of the Kenkiyak-Atyrau oil pipeline. The facility has a diameter of 610 millimeters and length of 448.5 kilometers.
Stroytransgaz carried out engineering work for the project, delivered materials and equipment, built the linear part of the oil pipeline, built and reconstructed three pumping stations and the terminal in Atyrau. Engineering for the oil pipeline was fulfilled by subsidiary GazNIIproekt.
The average pace of construction on the pipeline was seven to eight kilometers per day. The project was transferred to its owners in 2004.
Technology
- Stroytransgaz used the latest technology and engineering solutions to minimize pollution of the environment. The Ural River crossing, for example, was accomplished with horizontal directional drilling, making it possible to retain the river channel and riverbank in their natural conditions.
