Power distribution facilities for the Kalinin nuclear power plant
The project will enable to substantially decrease the energy shortfall in Moscow region through delivering to the capital more than 1 GW of energy generated at the Kalinin NPP.
Project implementation started in May 2010. The FGC of UES is customer for the project. Stroytransgaz will carry out engineering, procurement and construction work.
In accordance with the project, Stroytransgaz will install 6,758 MVA of transformer capacity and more than 560 kilometers of high-voltage cable. The project includes 85-km long HV-500 kV Gribovo-Dorokhovo line, 500 kV Dorokhovo substation with capacity of 1,002 MVA, and 255-km long HV-750 kV Kalinin NPP-Gribovo line. An expansion of Gribovo substation with switching its voltage to 750 kV will be carried out. As a result of the reconstruction, the substation’s capacity will increase by 3,504 MVA. At the same time, Stroytransgaz will expand the existing capacity of 750 kV Belozerskaya substation, installing a 750 kV transformer with capacity of 1,251 MVA. Besides, 93-km long 220 kV Dorokhovo-Sloboda double-circuit cable overhead transmission line will be constructed.
Work is expected to be completed in 2012.
