Stroytransgaz completed an EPC project for construction of the Kavkazkaya oil transshipment point in Krasnodar Krai. The facility was designed for reloading oil from the railway to a pipeline belonging to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. The transshipment point can handle six million tons of oil per year. Customer for the project was Naftatrans.
As part of implementing the project, the following work was undertaken:
- Construction of the oil transshipment point with a railway drainage rack, an oil pumping station, a tank battery, an artificial lake-vaporizer, and associated infrastructure
- Construction of a 15.7-kilometer oil pipeline tying into the CPC pipeline
- Construction-assembly of a scraper launcher and receiver unit near the Kropotkin oil pumping station
- Reconstruction of the Getmanovskaya railway station on the Servero-Kavkazkaya rail line
- Construction of a comprehensive system of automobile and rail roads
- Recultivation of 49 hectares of agricultural land and improvements to the 31,900-square-meter area of the oil transshipment point
Under terms of the contract, all work had to be completed within 11 months, notwithstanding its normative term of 22 months. Eight months were devoted to construction-assembly work. By optimizing production processes and strictly adhering to established order for realization of each project element, the facility was released for exploitation on the required date.
Work was completed in 2004.
