Kovykta-Sayansk-Irkutsk gas pipeline

In 2006 Stroytransgaz signed a contract as general contractor for construction of the Kovykta-Sayansk-Irkutsk gas pipeline. The East Siberian Gas Company was customer for the project.

In accordance with the contract, Stroytransgaz built the main gas pipeline from the Kovytka gas-condensate field to the Zhigalovo residential area (Kovykta-Zhigalovo) and all associated infrastructure. The pipeline stretches 112 kilometers; its main line has a diameter of 720 millimeters.

Specialists from the company had to overcome sections of permafrost soil during construction of the gas pipeline. The project was also distinguished by simultaneous construction at three points along the route: laying of pipeline from Zhigalovo and from the Kovykta field and building underwater crossings across the Lena and Tutura rivers.

The project was completed in 2007.
