Yuzhnoye Khylchuyu oil field
In 2006 Stroytransgaz and Naryanmarneftegaz signed a general contract for building and assembly work for the Yuzhnoye Khylchuyu field. The field is designed to produce 7.2 million tons of oil per year. Work within the project included construction and assembly of cluster structures with flow lines to central oil gathering points, facilities for oil gathering, artesian wells, a power park, construction the Yareiyu gas field with a reverse gas pipeline to the central gathering point, and terminal facilities at Varandey.
The main construction site is located 46 kilometers from the coast of the Barents Sea.
The region is entirely without infrastructure; therefore, opportunities to transport equipment are restricted to the winter. During the coldest months, temperatures fall to –50°С. The project provides for a complex of technical and environmental protection efforts that will ensure minimal negative influence on the environment.
