Vankor-Purpe oil pipeline

In 2006 Stroytransgaz and Vankorneft concluded a contract for construction of the main oil pipeline from the Vankor field to the Purpe booster station in Krasnoyarsk Krai.

The oil pipeline, which is to run 543 kilometers and have a diameter of 820 millimeters, transports the Vankor field's oil to the Transneft main oil pipeline system. Design capacity of the oil pipeline is 25 million tons per year.

As provided in the general contract, Stroytransgaz built the 184 kilometers of the line part and infrustracture objects.

Technology

  • Because the oil pipeline route traverses land with a solid expanse of permafrost, Stroytransgaz will use technology for aboveground construction, including thermopilings.
