Hawiyah-Uthmaniyah-Shedgum gas fields

In June 2009 Stroytransgaz and Saudi Aramco signed a contract for procurement and development works for the Hawiyah-Uthmaniyah-Shedgum gas fields in Saudi Arabia.

Under the contract Stroytransgaz had to construct and develop a number of objects:

  • 60 wells
  • 60 eight-inch diameter oil and gas flowlines totaling 240 kilometers
  • 5 gathering stations
  • 5 sixteen-inch diameter gas gathering manifolds totaling 80 kilometers

Geological and climatic conditions were difficult, requiring the team to contend with an overabundance of existing pipelines and roads. Hydraulic hammers and drill-and-blast operations were employed.

Work under the project was completed in 2010.
