Welding technologies

The use of modern technology and equipment for welding, along with deploying qualified specialists, allows Stroytransgaz to conduct welding operations in accordance with international standards.

To perform overhead pipe welding, we use automated gas-shielded welding with highperformance automated complexes along the entire length of a route. The company’s equipment is outfitted with a computerized system able to track welding processes and capable of making programming changes during welding, depending on the threedimensional position of the welding head, for each joint layer. Working in this manner, we increase the reliability and quality of welded joints.

We have been able to make significant improvements in productivity and the quality of pipe weld joints by using two-sided submerged arc automated pipe welding. At specialpurpose pipe-welding yards, company specialists consolidate pipes into two- or threepipe sections. This technology is used for welding pipe with steel grades of Х70, Х80, К70, and higher.

Quite often, projects that the company realizes must be carried out under abnormal climatic conditions. At exceptionally complicated sections of pipeline routes, we use semi-automatic welding with self-shielded flux-cored wire (Innershield technology).

When welding large-diameter pipelines in the Far North, we use a flash-butt resistance method, allowing us to eliminate the human factor as an influence on welding quality.

High-speed manual arc welding while using new-generation electrodes permits us to organize work with welding spread method, guaranteeing superior productivity rates and high-quality welding for pipe with steel grades of К70, Х80, and Х100.

For welding special classes of steel (corrosion resistant steel and alloys, aluminum, titan and others), we use semi-automated and automated argonarc welding.
